Service was very good from our waitress, Lorane. Our daughter was starting to cry and she quickly brought out our biscuits and cornbread ahead of the meal in case it was due to hunger. The food was pretty good - above average for a chain. Really liked the biscuits. And the checkers outside and game at the table help keep the kids entertained during waits.

Friday fish fry is delicious with fried okra, corn bread and ice tea. Great staff host, waiter and checkout. Clean bathrooms and easy access from freeway. Gift shop offers a great chance to stretch your legs and pick up a gift for a loved one or something for yourself. We look forward to each chance to eat here and very highly recommend you eat here to. Hope to see you on our next visit.

Stopped after a long day of driving for a good meal instead of McDrive-Thru fare. Glad I did. Staff was friendly and prompt. Meal was good, but roast beef had an inordinate amount of gristle and fat. Everything else was excellent. At the end of my meal the server asked if something was wrong when he noticed that the roast beef was the only thing left on my plate. After I explained, he cleared the table and disappeared. In less than a minute, he was back and informed me that he had the manager comp my meal and I need only pay for my tea. I was thankful, but a little guilty as I was not really upset. He assured me that it was his manager's policy to make every guest 100% happy before they left. I can appreciate this kind of service, care and concern for customers. That's why I will continue to patronize Cracker Barrels across the nation!

It's Cracker Barrel, food as always was on point and the service was very good.

First time here and I must say that I really like their pancakes. Great breakfast. Look forward to eating here again.

A typical Cracker Barrel with an attached quaint store. Food is tasty but nothing to brag about in my opinion. I had the Dbl Meat Breakfast consisting of Three Eggs cooked to order, 3 slices of Bacon, 2 Smoked Sausage Patties. Served with Grits, Sawmill Gravy and Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits. Now I dislike Grits but you must pay extra for a substitution. I had my eggs scrambled this time but they may have been powdered eggs as they had that type feel & taste; not bad but next time I'll order hard or over med. The bacon was wonderful as were the biscuits, and while my husband loved the smoked sausage it was just ok for me. Neither of us enjoyed the gravy as it was too thick & bland. Will try a dinner at some point to review.

We really enjoy Cracker Barrel restaurants. The food is always properly prepared and good. Prices are fair and people do a great job and are friendly. This applies to all their restaurants ...and we have been to many.

I love southern food and let's face it, not many restaurants serve southern food at all! Cracker Barrel serves great food with a fairly strong southern flair. Today I decided to go lite and ordered a salad they had on special. It isn't often that the plate you are served really looks like the picture. This one did! Everything was fresh and perfect. The corn slaw was great and the grilled chicken tasted homemade. Clean restroom, good service, host seemed a little bit distracted.

CB in Las Cruces has amazing customer service! You are not a customer, you are family! since I am a tightwad and don't like to spend a lot of money, I think its great that the kids menu is for "kids of all ages" I am a 60 yr old kid who love the chicken strips. A great meal at a very affordable price.

I have been to many Cracker Barrels in my lifetime thus far. Tonight I had the best customer service at a CB ever. I did a phone order (staying in the neighboring La Quinta). Ordered a chicken dinner with a salad and corn bread. KAYLA went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed including a cup of their whipped butter slightly warmed so it would be easy to spread with my plasticware. Kayla needs a raise ! Thumbs up!

Great food. My tummy is happy! And how sweet are these guys to actually shred the corn from the kernel coz i asked if they had somethin like that. They said no but it came out shredded. Now THAT's customer service. The meatloaf is AMAZINNNNNN

Breakfast is by far my favorite meal. I love pretty much any traditional dish that is served up in the waking hours of the day. I asked my local Las Cruces friend where the best breakfast is in the city and without hesitation she said Cracker Barrel. We came here for a big meal the morning of my birthday. We showed up around 10am on a Tuesday and most of the people already dining were retired folks or unemployed college kids on their summer vacation. It was rather quiet but my friend assured me the place gets pretty crazy during weekend brunch time. After walking through the cute little store at the front we were led to our table in a dining room filled with all kinds of weird, random, yet fascinating Southwest decor all over the walls. The menu is jam packed full of any and all good ol' Southwest artery clogging breakfast items. The "Traditional Favorites" section has a large number of huge meal combinations with the highlights of the menu (Sawmill gravy, biscuits, and fried apples) included in each one. I was really hungry and I was aiming to fill up my stomach to hold me over for the rest of the day. I landed on what was basically the largest combination: Sunrise Sampler (two eggs, grits, Sawmill gravy and buttermilk biscuits, fried apples, hash brown casserole, smoked sausage, and country ham). The country ham and sausage were each pretty dry. So much so I had to drink water in order to swallow them. However, the biscuits and gravy were each delicious and the grits and eggs were nice too. Although it's pretty difficult to screw up two scrabbled eggs. When I first read "fried eggs" on the menu I thought I would be totally disgusted by them. I assumed they would be huge calorie bombs dipped in batter and deep fried "county fair" style. Instead, they were very lightly fried with no batter in sight and plenty of sauce covering each slice. To my surprise, they were actually so good I thought about buying a jar of them from the store on our way out (although I opted against it). The real highlight of the meal though, the thing that made the whole trip worthwhile, was the amazing hash brown casserole. It was a large helping of string hash browns (my favorite) mixed with a generous portion of cheese (see, artery clogging indeed). Cracker Barrel served me up a huge portion of the breakfast staples and after all was said and done I only spent about $10. Decent start to my 23rd birthday, that's for sure!

The food at Cracker Barrel is very predictable no matter where you go. It's adequate, maybe a notch up from school cafeteria food, and it is ample and not expensive. This particular Cracker Barrel has very uneven, often slow, unfriendly, service and the room is quite loud. I like the store though. They sell some amazingly funny products. Who wants a muu-muu in patriotic colors? Anyone?
(2)Grace P.
Fast and friendly service - our server, Tabitha, was awesome. We were promptly given our drinks and food came out quickly. Manager checked up on all his guests to ensure quality of food and service. Glad we stopped from our road trip to eat at this Cracker Barrel. I recommend anyone to stop here.
(5)John R.
Breakfast for dinner. ...um Yes! Two words coke cake. That cake was so good I will come back just for that. The service was excellent and I went during dinner rush.

We have been seeing billboards for Cracker Barrel Restaurants driving around Arizona and New Mexico so we finally decided to stop at the one in Las Cruces for dinner. The menu was expansive and looked promising. I got the deep fried catfish with three sides of vegetables - you pick the vegetables, so I got fried okra, turnip greens and green beans. The dinner came with two biscuits too. The verdict? The catfish was just OK, and made edible with lots of lemon squeezed on top and the tartar sauce. The biscuits were only mildly edible when piping hot. The greens were all really salty, and the fried okra was better after the breading was peeled off. The service tried to be helpful, warning us that there are no refills on orange juice (no surprise there) and even providing us with a sample of the "chicken dumplin". But we won't come back to the chain restaurant - there really isn't a reason to.

I came here on Thanksgiving....so it was a madhouse. We had to wait an hour but that was to be expected. All the rocking chairs were taken so that should tell you how busy it was. But I was so impressed with the staff. They were running around like crazy doing their best to take care of everyone and no one was ever rude or snippy to anyone. Some customers were really rude to them, acting like they could someone speed up the process by yelling at the staff. But the staff was wonderful and the food was great. I would go back just for the staff alone.

After my first Cracker Barrel experience, I think, "I'd go back if there weren't any better options" probably is the best way of describing it. I got the meatloaf dinner, but I was most excited by the sides, and was looking to try dumplins. What a let down. Cracker Barrel dumplins = gooey pasta in not so good gravy. At a place like this, I tend to order all the vegetables I can muster. The fried okra (OKRA!!!) and turnip greens were pretty nice. Other memorable sides were applesauce and broccoli (the veg of the day). Last minute, we ordered a baked apple dumplin only to realize once we got home that there was no ice cream. A la mode-less to go.

Had a great time here. I've never been to a Cracker Barrel so it was a new experience. Our waitress, Kayla, was really nice. My husband and I got the summer special campfire chicken. The portion was very generous and came with potatoes, carrots, onions and tomatoes. The chicken was very juicy, which I was happily surprised about sometimes it can be dry. The gift shop was fun, too. If you're passing through, this is a great place to stop. For two people, our meal came out to $21. Not bad at all!

Everytime I visit a Cracker Barrel I get the same thing. Mama's.Pancake.Breakfast. Complete w/ over-hard eggs, turkey sausage patties, and coffee. $7.49 for the meal, $1.49 for the bottomless cup of coffee. This is your typical Cracker Barrel, if you're familiar. Hit the spot this morning. Mmmmm....
(4)Dwight P.
Really like the consistency of Cracker Barrel. No matter which one you visit, the food is uniformly good. Large portions well cooked, and served in short time. Only complaint we have is that the bacon is quite salty, at least for our tastes. A good thing for Seniors to know is that you can order from the kids menu if you are like us, and don't eat much anymore. We really recommend them for the good breakfasts.
(4)Brian O.
On Friday evening, we decided to go to the Cracker Barrel for their fish fry. We had two orders of the cod and two orders of the catfish. I had mac and cheese and cole slaw as my sides, while the others had french fries and cole slaw. Everyone thought that their meals were good. The biscuits and corn bread were also good. My food experience at this location was much better than my previous experience at a Cracker Barrel in Arizona. The service was just fine.

Horrible service. And not great food. Don't expect much but expected more than. Received better service at McDonald

good food. fast service, for the most part. would come back.
(4)Josh C.
Good but the food always seems a bit to salty here. In fact I've noticed a lot of Cracker Barrels around the country like to salt up there food, I hate that. Service was great, atmosphere just like every other CB.

We took a road trip to New Mexico from California and my BF kept talking about Cracker Barrel and how they are so good - so we decided to stop and eat. There is a store you go through thats super cute and has an array of things - food, candy, books, clothes, etc. We got seated very quickly and the hostess was super nice. I decided on breakfast w/ the sourdough french toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage patties. My BF got the chicken fried chicken that came w/ 3 sides he picked the hashbrown casserole, mac n cheese and corn. He also got the apple cranberry tea - I don't even like tea and thought it was delicious. Just sweet enough. The food came out and I was shocked at how much food it was, the portions are huge. My breakfast was yummy I thoroughly enjoyed it. My BF absolutely loved his chicken fried chicken. I had some of the mac n cheese & hashbrown casserole and I think I liked those a little better than my breakfast. It was all around $20 We ended up taking his sisters, niece and brother here with us a few nights later. The service was fantastic.. so nice and helpful. There were 6 of us and he handled all of our many requests well and FAST. This time I opted for dinner & got fried shrimp w/ green beans and double sides of mac. Everyone else got either Chicken Fried Chicken or Country Fried Steak. Everyone was extremely happy and shocked at how much food came. We all had leftovers. The biscuits here are awesome as well. I'm pretty jealous we don't have one of these in California :(

I want to be a big fan of Cracker Barrel, but I just can't. The food is good, yes, but this place is always crowded and noisy. The management packs the tables so close you may get somebody's butt in your face as they try to shimmy between tables and chairs. My biggest issue, and maybe I need to get over it, is that Cracker Barrel seems to be doing nicely at fattening up America. The quantity of food is obnoxious, and to that end I guess it's a great value, but seriously the food they give to one person could feed a family in the Congo. I'm a big boy but I'm always happier when I choose a Senior breakfast. You'll be happy, too, with no indigestion afterward.
(3)Richard D.
Rising star, I think not. We usually stop at Barrels on our trips. This one was one of the most inefficient we have encountered. Also the oatmeal I ordered was pasty and I had to reorder the brown sugar and milk. All in all not good. 'nuf said.
(2)Adriana D.
My pal's fat farm boy breakfast (at 9 pm) was pretty wonderful and I think we would have been well-served to have had that one perfect meal between the two of us. But then . . .I had to order my own meal AND a steak at that in order to share it with our pup who was along for the road trip. The steak was fine although I had food poisoning that night. And into the following week. Which could have been caused by anything but if I were to isolate a suspect it would have been the fried okra. It tasted re-fried but frankly, after a long day behind the wheel and little to eat, I succumbed. Over and over again, as it happens. Stick with breakfast. It seems to be the one to pick!

You know what your getting when you go here. Standard food across the board. What made me right a review was the service. We pulled in at 945pm, and they close at 10. We had the nicest server, who never rushed us or made us feel like we had to leave. We had been driving all day so it was nice to stop and relax for a bit before bed. Thanks CB!

Great place for breakfast. Always good for a home style meal. This one is like every other Cracker Barrel I've been to.
(4)Nick R.
Cracker Barrel is great if you are up early and need a sleeping aide. Order just about anything on the menu (most come with syrup, gravy, and butter), pass on the coffee, drive home really fast, and then just enjoy the ensuing food coma. Cracker Barrel is also great if you are old enough to have Type 2 diabetes or heart disease, but have yet to have them set in.

Seriously, if you don't like Cracker Barrel, you should just kill yourself, because Jesus likes Cracker Barrel, and if Jesus likes it, it must be fucking awesome! I bet you were unaware that there was an 11th commandment. "Thou shall love and eat at Cracker Barrel." Seriously. Its in the New Testament. Look it up. Would I lie to you? After years of hearing about Cracker Barrel, I am no longer a Barrel virgin. I was devirginized this morning. Dude. Seriously, why does California not have Cracker Barrel?! Because California is too snobby for kick-ass cheap eats, that's why! Stoopid California. *shakes head* We each had the Holiday breakfast sampler. Eggs, bacon, brown sugar ham, sausage, biscuits and gravy, grits, cinnamon sugar biscuits and the best goddamn hash brown casserole on the planet all for $7 and change. Holy shit, it was a feast! The hash brown casserole was like Mecca. Think of hash browns, but with tiny meth crystals in it. OMG my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Potatoes, cheese and onions all mixed together in one glorious concoction. And the cinnamon sugar biscuits... oh my Jesus, those biscuits were amazing. The gift shop was way cute too.

Cracker Barrel is one of the best chain restaurants hands down. (I was so excited when we moved here because there weren't any Cracker Barrels where we lived.) You know every time you walk in you're gonna get great service and great food. The sweet tea is to die for, and I recommend trying the side salad because its one of the best side salads out there. Most places when you order blue cheese you end up getting something that tastes like Ranch, but here it's chunky and amazing!
(5)Barbara A.
Clean restrooms, fast friendly service and close to the freeway. We have eaten here a few times on our trips. Our server was very friendly and fast. Our all-time favorite is the chicken fried chicken, but I got the Tuesday special and it was chicken and rice, it was very good too, but we still love the chicken fried chicken. I always get the fried okra. We have always noticed that almost all of the Cracker Barrels across the USA serve warm to tepid food and never piping hot, do they let it sit on a shelf and cool off before bringing it out?
(3)Tony M.
The food is not bad but the service from the kitchen is very slow. I would say plan on having some time when you go to eat. The wait staff is very friendly and provides good service when the kitchen gets the food plated.
(3)Tony K.
We were passing thru town and stopped in for dinner. Our dinner was really good ,fresh etc with friendly service. Not all Cracker Barrels are the same we have found out but we would stop here again.
(4)Scott J.
Ah, so good. I've gotten a couple different things, but dish I really remember was tilapia. It was actually very good. Portions are sized well. When it gets busy for breakfast on Sunday, service can get a little slow.
(4)James L.
Cracker Barrell is awesome! Whether you're looking for breakfast, lunch, or dinner you will be not be disappointed. I do wish they were located in southern California, but I always look forward to the food when we travel. Great value for the price!
(5)Nate M.
There r a lot of great items on Cracker Barrels menu but you have to try Momma's home-style French Toast. They are awesome.
(4)Jessica C.
Oh Yelp, why can't you have an option for zero stars???? A few weeks back, my boyfriend & I moved from Los Angeles CA to Houston, TX. My parents drove with us to help us out, and Las Cruces was where we stopped on our first night, & Cracker Barrel seemed to be the only food choice near our hotel. Their whole deal is that everything is "homemade", & "made from scratch." Well...it's not. Everything, from their chicken 'n dumplings to their mac 'n cheese to their fried apples (which were basically mush, nothing fried about them), I'm about 110% sure, came from a package. While everyone else's food came in organized dishes, the restaurant chose to pile all my food on one plate all together...I am visually impaired...do they think the concept of different food in different dishes would be to difficult?? So if you're hungry for flavorless, overpriced, frozen-dinner food then go here. Our waitress was sweet...this 1 star is for her only.

The potato casserole is magical, if I could order a bowl of this for breakfast everyday, I'd die a happy 450 pound man. They serve you like these corn muffins, but I guess if you're not from "the south" they may take some getting used to. DON'T GET ME WRONG, they are awesome, but I thought they were like a fluffy pastry things, and in real life they are dry, so i was a bit surprised at my first bite...and drink of water. Only place I ever seen serve for-reals butter, so that's a wonderful addition to the already 70,000 calorie breakfast, but hey after Cracker Barrel you need nothing else all day. The service is a bit lost with the concept of refilling empty glasses, but their friendliness is totally worth going and enjoying your breakfast. Recommendation: GO HUNG OVER!

Tasty tater tots, good ham sandwich and great service!
